The Center for Ontological Study of Imagination

   

THE CENTER FOR ONTOLOGICAL STUDY OF IMAGINATION

at the «Ontology and Theory of Knowledge» sub-faculty

of the Philosophical Department

of Saint-Petersburg State University



The Center is a scientific organization, which activities conclude the studies of ontological foundations of human imagination and its existential conditions. The Center was found with intention to coordinate efforts of professional philosophers, scientists, politicians, men of art and humanitarians, which consider imagination as an actual problem for their own creative work.

The Center was found in 2001. Author of the idea, organizer of the Center and its scientific director — Yuri M. Romanenko, Ph.D.

The Center carries out weekly theoretical seminars at Wednesday, 16–18 p.m.

Location: 199034, Saint-Petersburg, Mendeleyevskaya liniya 5, the Philosophical Department of Saint-Petersburg State University, the «Ontology and Theory of Knowledge» sub-faculty.

The issues of the Center are represented in the annual scientific conferences under the general title «Ontology of the Imagined»:


  1. «Ontology of the Imagined: the elements of philosophical imagination» (SPb, December, 26, 2001).
  2. «Ontology of the Imagined: imagination in scientific knowledge and creative work» (SPb, December, 27, 2001).
